Chain Link Fence Installation
Affordable, durable chain link for back yards, dog runs, schools, churches and commercial properties.

Galvanized chain link is the most affordable way to enclose a yard in Charlotte. It's durable, quick to install, keeps pets in and lets air and light through. For a better look, black vinyl-coated chain link blends into landscaping and is allowed by more HOAs.

Common uses in Charlotte
- Backyards on older lots in east and west Charlotte, Derita and Newell
- Dog runs and side-yard pet areas
- Community gardens and vegetable gardens
- Schools, churches, ballfields and playgrounds
- Utility areas, equipment yards and construction-adjacent properties
Heights and gauges
Residential chain link is usually 4 feet. Commercial work often uses 6 to 8 feet with heavier fabric gauges and thicker posts. We match the gauge and framework to how the fence will be used.
Install details
- Terminal posts set in concrete below the frost line
- Top rail or tension wire, with bottom tension wire to discourage dogs from pushing under
- Properly tensioned fabric with stretcher bars at ends and gates
- Gates sized for mowers and roll-out carts
Replacing old chain link
Many mid-century Charlotte homes have original chain link that’s leaning or rusted. Options include replacing it with new galvanized chain link, upgrading to black vinyl-coated, or switching to wood, vinyl or aluminum. Removal and haul-away can be included on your quote.

Questions Charlotte homeowners ask
How long does galvanized chain link last?
Many decades for the fabric and framework when installed well. Most failures come from bent top rails after limb strikes or loose ties.
Can I add privacy to chain link?
Privacy slats or screens can be added, but they increase wind load. In storm-prone spots, we may recommend heavier posts.
Is chain link allowed in my HOA?
Many Charlotte HOAs prohibit galvanized chain link but allow black vinyl-coated chain link. Check your guidelines.
