Fence Repair

Leaning posts, sagging gates, broken boards and storm damage fixed, with honest advice on when repair stops making sense.

Fence Repair in Charlotte, NC
Short answer

Most Charlotte fence repairs come down to a few things: posts that rotted or heaved in wet clay, gates that sag, boards or panels broken by limbs, and chain link rails bent by falling branches. If more than about a third of the posts are failing, replacement usually costs less over time than piecemeal repair.

Common repairs

  • Leaning or broken posts. Usually rot at grade or concrete that never crowned and held water. We pull and replace or sister posts as appropriate.
  • Sagging gates. Heavy wood gates drop over time. We add steel frames, anti-sag kits, heavier hinges or a new gate post.
  • Broken pickets and rails. Replaced and, if you want, stained to blend.
  • Vinyl panels and rails. Cracked parts swapped when the profile is available.
  • Aluminum and steel. Bent pickets, loose brackets and gate hardware.
  • Chain link. Bent top rail, loose fabric, broken ties and gate frames.

Why fences fail in Charlotte

  • Wet clay: holds water around posts and speeds rot
  • Shade: keeps wood damp under oaks and on north-facing lines
  • Storms: limbs and wind on solid panels
  • Roots: growing roots push posts out of line over years
  • Irrigation: sprinklers hitting the same boards daily

Questions Charlotte homeowners ask

Can you fix just one leaning section?

Yes. We reset or replace the failed posts and re-hang that section. If neighboring posts are close to failing, we’ll tell you.

Can you match my old fence?

We can match most styles, but new wood will look different until it weathers or is stained. Vinyl and aluminum matching depends on brand and color availability.

Do you repair fences you didn't install?

Yes. We repair wood, vinyl, aluminum, steel and chain link regardless of who built them.
