Cotswold Fences
Horizontal cedar, privacy and patio screens for Cotswold's mid-century ranches and remodels.

Cotswold is full of 1950s and 1960s brick ranches on generous, tree-filled lots, many being remodeled or replaced. Popular fences here are horizontal cedar that suits low-slung houses, board-on-board privacy for back yards, and screens around patios and hot tubs. Replacing original chain link is one of our most common Cotswold jobs.

The neighborhood
Cotswold grew in the 1950s and 1960s around what became Cotswold Village shopping center, between Randolph Road and Providence Road. Lots are larger than in the streetcar suburbs, with mature hardwoods.

Questions Charlotte homeowners ask
Can I replace my old chain link with wood on the same line?
Usually, after confirming the line. Old fences aren’t always on the property line, so check pins or a survey first.
Do I need a permit for a hot tub screen?
Short freestanding screens usually don’t, but a screen over 6 feet would. Spa barrier rules may also apply.
