Coulwood & Paw Creek Fences in Charlotte, NC
Short answer

Coulwood and Paw Creek mix older ranch homes on hilly, wooded lots with newer subdivisions. Planning on hilly, wooded ground

Northwest Charlotte’s terrain is some of the most rolling in the city. Lots can drop steeply toward creeks, and many have large hardwoods and pines. Fence layouts often need several step changes, careful gate placement and post locations that avoid big roots.

Creeks and buffers

Long Creek, Gum Branch and other streams run through the area. Before fencing low back yards, check for stream buffers and floodplain mapping.

Upgrading older fences

Many homes here have original chain link. Replacing it with black vinyl-coated chain link keeps costs down while looking much better; switching to wood or vinyl adds privacy.

Questions Charlotte homeowners ask

What is a developer-controlled HOA?

An HOA still run by the builder or developer until enough homes sell. Rules can be strict and enforcement fast. Read the covenants before building.

How do you handle steep yards?

With stepped panels for solid fences or racked aluminum and chain link that follow the slope.
