Dumpster Enclosures

Heavy-duty dumpster enclosures and gates that meet screening requirements and survive daily truck service.

Dumpster Enclosures in Charlotte, NC
Short answer

A Charlotte dumpster enclosure typically has three solid sides (masonry, wood or composite on steel), heavy steel-framed gates with cane bolts or drop rods, bollards to protect posts, and a concrete pad. It's often required as screening by the UDO or the property's site plan, and it must be sized for the container and collection truck.

Why enclosures fail

  • Gates hit by trucks or dumpster lids
  • Hinges and posts not sized for the gate weight
  • Wood cladding rotting at the bottom
  • No drop rods, so gates swing in the wind and break hinges

How we build them

  • Steel gate frames with heavy-duty hinges
  • Composite, metal or wood slats to match the building
  • Drop rods and cane bolts to hold gates open and closed
  • Bollards at corners and gate posts
  • Walls in split-face block or wood on steel posts

Sizing

We size the enclosure to the container plus room for gates to swing fully and for the hauler’s truck to approach. Check with your waste hauler for container dimensions and service access.

Screening rules

Charlotte’s UDO includes screening standards for dumpsters and service areas. If your site has an approved plan, we build to it.

Questions Charlotte homeowners ask

Can you replace just the gates?

Yes. Gate replacement on existing masonry enclosures is one of our most common commercial jobs.

What gate cladding lasts longest?

Composite or metal slats hold up better than wood against moisture and impact.
